Are you familiar with the signs of melanoma? ๐Ÿ‘€ We are!
.
Itโ€™s as simple as knowing your ABCDEs! Be sure to check your skin monthly for any changes and call your doctor should something meet any of these criteria:
โ˜€๏ธ A: Asymmetry - if you were to draw a line down the middle of the mole, and it wouldnโ€™t line up, thatโ€™s a cause for concern.
โ˜€๏ธ B: Border Irregularity - Does the spot have scalloped or notched edges? Poorly define borders? If yes, get it checked.
โ˜€๏ธC: Color Variation - Melanomas can be brown, black, even red, white and blue. Keep an eye on anything with varying pigmentation.
โ˜€๏ธD: Diameter - Is the spot larger than a pencil eraser? Have a doctor look if so.
โ˜€๏ธE: Evolution - If any existing spot starts to change color, size, or any new spot shows up, have your doctor look at it soon.
.
When it doubt, call your dermatologist, weโ€™re here to help! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I am so glad I found Skinpros! My trip started with a skin check and biopsies in Cumberland with Stephanie Daddario and ended with surgery in Providence by Dr. Cruz. Stephanie is bubbly and fun and makes you feel very comfortable. Dr. Cruz is gentle, professional and has great bedside manner. My surgery was done quickly an effectively and Dr. Cruz did an amazing job leaving as little damage as possible. I highly recommend Skinpros! ... See MoreSee Less

Sunscreen is a critical part of protecting ourselves against the sunโ€™s harmful UV rays.๐ŸงดToo much exposure to the sun leads to an increased risk of skin cancer, so choosing a broad spectrum sunscreen and wearing it daily can help limit your risk. โ˜€๏ธ Remember to reapply often (every 2 hours) and to seek shade when possible. ๐Ÿ–

I saw the face. I know this guy. Oh yeah he's my skin doc surgeon. He did MOHS on my nose a few years ago. I was scared. He did a great job of answering my long list of questions and I was happy to have had only one scrape of MOHS - no more. I would recommend him. He listens well too.

Whether itโ€™s a cosmetic procedure or the treatment of a skin cancer, after care is critically important. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Healthy practices like wearing sunscreen, eating a balanced diet, and allowing your body to rest, can make all the difference in the healing process. ๐Ÿค• Remember that the skin is your bodyโ€™s largest organ, and in order for it to be healthy, the rest of you needs to be too! ๐Ÿฅ—
