I do special things for myself, and I’ll bet you do, too.
I work out, eat right, and take care of my skin. Of course, cosmetic creams and lotions will always have their place in my regimen—but for my moderate to severe frown lines, I was ready for a prescription treatment. Maybe you are, too.
What causes frown lines?
Over time, repeated movement of the facial skin by the forehead muscles forms lines between the eyebrows. Frown lines are “dynamic”—they happen because of the way a person’s face moves.
Are they always related to age?
No. Because frown lines are created by facial movements, such as frowning or squinting, they may develop even in younger adults.
Prescription Dysport temporarily improves the look of your frown lines without changing the look of your whole face. Untreated facial muscles still work normally. See how Dysport works.
What is the most important information you should know about Dysport?
Spread of Toxin Effects: In some cases, the effects of Dysport and all botulinum toxin products may affect areas of the body away from the injection site. These effects can cause symptoms of a serious condition called botulism. Symptoms of botulism can happen hours to weeks after injection and may include swallowing and breathing problems, loss of strength and muscle weakness all over the body, double vision, blurred vision and drooping eyelids, hoarseness or change or loss of voice, trouble saying words clearly, or loss of bladder control.
Do not have Dysport treatment if you: are allergic to Dysport or any of its ingredients (see the end of the Medication Guide for a list of ingredients), are allergic to cow’s milk protein, had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product (such as Myobloc® or Botox®), or have a skin infection at the planned injection site.
The dose of Dysport is not the same as the dose of any other botulinum toxin product. The dose of Dysport cannot be compared to the dose of any other botulinum toxin product you may have used.
Your 1’s, 11’s, or 111’s are those moderate to severe vertical frown lines between your brows. Years of squinting, concentrating, or frowning can cause your skin to furrow and crease. As your skin becomes less elastic, those moderate to severe frown lines remain—even when your muscles are not contracting.
With a few tiny injections, BOTOX® Cosmetic blocks nerve impulses to the injected muscles, which reduces the muscle activity that causes those persistent 1’s, 11’s, or 111’s to form. This reduced muscle activity helps reduce the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between your brows.
Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow’s feet become more apparent.
The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle.
Dermal fillers can be used effectively to:
Dermal fillers can be very helpful in those with early signs of aging, or as a value-added part of facial rejuvenation surgery.

The Aging Process
Aging skin loses natural support structures that keep skin supple and youthful. As the years go by, collagen and elastin diminish within the skin, and this can result in wrinkles and creases.
RADIESSE is a wrinkle filler used to plump the skin. RADIESSE is injected through a small needle and placed under the skin. Immediately, this filler works to add volume under the skin and over time, the benefits of RADIESSE continue by naturally stimulating your body’s own natural collagen.
The natural results have been shown to last a year or more in many patients, making the treatment results both immediate and long lasting.
Piercing your ears places a strain on your earlobes and puts them at risk for stretching, tearing and keloid scarring (a benign growth of scar tissue). Because of the ear piercing location, earlobes often split and are very visible. Fortunately, earlobe repair surgery easily fixes the split and enables you to wear earrings again.
Earlobe Repair Procedure
The earlobe repair procedure is a relatively simple one. To allow the lobe of the ear to heal back together, Dr. Cruz simply removes the healed skin on the inside of your torn earlobe and then carefully places fine stitches to bring the fresh edges back together. It is all performed under local anesthesia.
Earlobe Repair Recovery
The sutures are removed after 1 week. You will be allowed to pierce your ears 6 weeks after the procedure.
What is Sculptra?
If you want to appear more youthful-looking — without appearing like you’ve had work done — then chances are Sculptra may be a good choice for you.
How Does it Work?
Sculptra is made with biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps to rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments administered by a trained specialist.
The specialist injects treatment into the appropriate dermal plane where strands of collagen support your skin’s structure. Over time, Sculptra helps the body reproduce lost collagen.1,2,4 The number of injection appointments and the number of injections per appointment varies from person to person, depending on how much collagen has been lost. On average, three injection appointments are needed over a period of a few months.
WHAT IS PLATELET-RICH PLASMA?
Your blood is made up of four main components: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Platelet Rich Plasma is a platelet concentrated component from your own blood that contains nutrient rich cells and protein growth factors.
WHAT IS PLASMA?
Plasma is the largest component of your blood, making up about 55 percent of its overall content. The primary purpose of plasma is to transport nutrients, hormones, and proteins to the parts of the body that need it.
IS PLATELET-RICH PLASMA SAFE?
Platelet Rich Plasma is safe because it comes from your own blood, therefore there is minimal risk for allergic or immune reaction. Platelet Rich Plasma preparation must be conducted by a trained medical professional. Consult your physician for more information.
WHAT ARE PLATELETS?
Platelets are tiny cells that circulate within our body and bind together when they recognize damaged blood vessels. Platelets are made in your bone marrow along with your white and red blood cells.
HOW IS PLATELET-RICH PLASMA PREPARED?
Platelet Rich Plasma is produced when a small amount of blood is drawn and placed into a sterile, disposable container and then, spun to separate the platelets from your blood sample, resulting in a platelet-rich plasma.
The ProGen Platelet Rich Plasma System delivers the results your practice is looking for with the comfort of knowing that it is manufactured right here in the United States of America. Discover why more physicians are switching to this proven system.
