I do special things for myself, and I’ll bet you do, too.
I work out, eat right, and take care of my skin. Of course, cosmetic creams and lotions will always have their place in my regimen—but for my moderate to severe frown lines, I was ready for a prescription treatment. Maybe you are, too.
What causes frown lines?
Over time, repeated movement of the facial skin by the forehead muscles forms lines between the eyebrows. Frown lines are “dynamic”—they happen because of the way a person’s face moves.
Are they always related to age?
No. Because frown lines are created by facial movements, such as frowning or squinting, they may develop even in younger adults.
Prescription Dysport temporarily improves the look of your frown lines without changing the look of your whole face. Untreated facial muscles still work normally. See how Dysport works.
What is the most important information you should know about Dysport?
Spread of Toxin Effects: In some cases, the effects of Dysport and all botulinum toxin products may affect areas of the body away from the injection site. These effects can cause symptoms of a serious condition called botulism. Symptoms of botulism can happen hours to weeks after injection and may include swallowing and breathing problems, loss of strength and muscle weakness all over the body, double vision, blurred vision and drooping eyelids, hoarseness or change or loss of voice, trouble saying words clearly, or loss of bladder control.
Do not have Dysport treatment if you: are allergic to Dysport or any of its ingredients (see the end of the Medication Guide for a list of ingredients), are allergic to cow’s milk protein, had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product (such as Myobloc® or Botox®), or have a skin infection at the planned injection site.
The dose of Dysport is not the same as the dose of any other botulinum toxin product. The dose of Dysport cannot be compared to the dose of any other botulinum toxin product you may have used.
What is XEOMIN®?
XEOMIN® in Aesthetics: How Does it Work?
When you squint or frown, the muscles between your brows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. These lines that occur due to facial mimics are referred to as dynamic lines. Over time, as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines.
Botulinum toxin type A – the active ingredient in XEOMIN® – is used in facial aesthetic treatment to treat dynamic lines like glabellar frown lines. It acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, XEOMIN® can temporarily reduce the frown lines on your forehead between your eyes.
Your 1’s, 11’s, or 111’s are those moderate to severe vertical frown lines between your brows. Years of squinting, concentrating, or frowning can cause your skin to furrow and crease. As your skin becomes less elastic, those moderate to severe frown lines remain—even when your muscles are not contracting.
With a few tiny injections, BOTOX® Cosmetic blocks nerve impulses to the injected muscles, which reduces the muscle activity that causes those persistent 1’s, 11’s, or 111’s to form. This reduced muscle activity helps reduce the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between your brows.
Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow’s feet become more apparent.
The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle.
Dermal fillers can be used effectively to:
Dermal fillers can be very helpful in those with early signs of aging, or as a value-added part of facial rejuvenation surgery.
What is Restylane? – Natural-Looking, Long‑Lasting Results
With over 28 million treatments worldwide and counting,1 the Restylane line of hyaluronic acid fillers is used to smooth away wrinkles and fine lines (Restylane & Restylane Lyft), create fuller and more accentuated lips (Restylane Silk), and add lift and volume to the cheeks (Restylane Lyft). All Restylane products work to enhance facial features and give long-lasting, yet non-permanent results.
Skin Science – How Restylane Works
The Restylane line of products is designed to act like your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid. Our NASHA® technology allows a unique particle size for each Restylane product,2 which means they offer tailored treatments for individual, natural-looking results.
Restylane® can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane may also be used for lip enhancement in patients over 21 years.
Finally, a filler that can help you achieve your ideal lips. Restylane® Silk is the first FDA-approved product specifically designed for lip augmentation and the smoothing of wrinkles around the mouth in patients 21 years of age and older.
Restylane® Lyft is approved by the FDA for cheek augmentation and the correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies in patients over the age of 21. This is in addition to treating moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines).
The Aging Process
Aging skin loses natural support structures that keep skin supple and youthful. As the years go by, collagen and elastin diminish within the skin, and this can result in wrinkles and creases.
RADIESSE is a wrinkle filler used to plump the skin. RADIESSE is injected through a small needle and placed under the skin. Immediately, this filler works to add volume under the skin and over time, the benefits of RADIESSE continue by naturally stimulating your body’s own natural collagen.
The natural results have been shown to last a year or more in many patients, making the treatment results both immediate and long lasting.
BELOTERO BALANCE® is a prescription injection that is approved to temporarily smooth out and fill in moderate-to-severe nasolabial folds (the folds or wrinkles that go from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth).
What is the difference between BELOTERO BALANCE and other fillers?
BELOTERO BALANCE is a hyaluronic acid injectable filler designed to integrate into facial skin tissue. The unique manufacturing process for BELOTERO BALANCE yields a soft and cohesive gel that, once injected, instantly fills the skin to help smooth moderate-to-severe etched-in lines and wrinkles. While the product is versatile enough to handle moderate nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth), it may be an ideal option for treating delicate areas such as etched-in smile lines and vertical lip lines (thin lines that appear above and around the lips).
Piercing your ears places a strain on your earlobes and puts them at risk for stretching, tearing and keloid scarring (a benign growth of scar tissue). Because of the ear piercing location, earlobes often split and are very visible. Fortunately, earlobe repair surgery easily fixes the split and enables you to wear earrings again.
Earlobe Repair Procedure
The earlobe repair procedure is a relatively simple one. To allow the lobe of the ear to heal back together, Dr. Cruz simply removes the healed skin on the inside of your torn earlobe and then carefully places fine stitches to bring the fresh edges back together. It is all performed under local anesthesia.
Earlobe Repair Recovery
The sutures are removed after 1 week. You will be allowed to pierce your ears 6 weeks after the procedure.
Come into SKINPros and we’ll educate you on the process to make sure the benefits are long-lasting and even. It is recommended that you exfoliate with a product like Aveda’s soothing bath scrub. Exfoliating extends the life of your tan up to 7 days. After tanning, wear dark clothes that are loose-fitting and stay out of the water for at least 24 hours. It is also important to moisturize the skin with a DHA-infused lotion.

Do you ever look in the mirror and wish that your face had a more even skin tone? If you answered yes, you may want to consider microdermabrasion. This non-invasive treatment gently exfoliates your skin. After a series of treatments, your complexion can appear smoother, brighter, and more even in color.
The microdermabrasion that a dermatologist performs differs from the one that you can do at home with a kit. A dermatologist treatment goes a bit deeper into the skin. Still, the procedure is safe for all skin colors.
Microdermabrasion appeals to many patients. They like that they can see more youthful skin without having downtime.
This gentle, non-invasive procedure can help diminish:
Dermatologists also use microdermabrasion to improve the results gained from using anti-aging products and skin-bleaching products. Microdermabrasion allows these products to penetrate the skin more easily.
Do you wish that you could simply peel signs of aging from your skin? Dermatologists use chemical peels to do just this. A chemical peel can diminish many signs of aging on the face as well as the hands, neck, and chest.
Chemical peels also treat some skin conditions. Dermatologists use chemical peels to treat some types of acne and conditions that discolor the skin.
Whether you receive a chemical peel to diminish signs of aging or treat a skin condition, you can see:
Some chemical peels require downtime.
